A fascination with olive trees, discovered while traveling in Europe, grew into a commitment to their selection and care.
How a journey led to Olive De Casa
For Nattida Ingavat, an olive tree means more than a garden ornament. It is a living thing with its own character, carrying stories shaped by time. This perspective grew from her regular travels to Europe for work, where she experienced the character of olive trees firsthand and began to wonder whether the olive trees she saw there could also grow in Thailand.
Her starting point was a single olive tree, imported and planted at home as a trial. By learning how to care for it and understand the conditions it needed, she gradually developed a deeper interest. She then studied olive trees seriously, from varieties and direct selection with growers to importing and acclimatizing trees to give them the best chance of growing in Thailand.
That passion developed into Olive De Casa, a business devoted to selecting quality olive trees with distinctive forms. The work begins with choosing strong trees directly from their growing fields, then continues through import, recovery, transport, planting, and guidance for care after planting.
Seeing each tree as more than its size and age
When Nattida selects an olive tree, she looks at the details that make each tree individual: the form of its trunk, the movement of its branches, the shape of its canopy, the condition of its roots and leaves, and how well it fits the planting space. Every tree has a different character. A tree that looks beautiful in one home may not suit the style of another garden.
The decision therefore considers both the tree and its surroundings: where it will be planted, the direction of the light, the available space, and the garden’s style. The aim is for the olive tree to feel at home and continue to grow in a way that suits its setting.
From its origin to its new home
Behind the beauty of each olive tree is a careful process. It begins with selection at the source, preparation for international transport, and a period of recovery and acclimatization to a new climate. It also includes planning how the tree will be moved and planted in its final setting.
As Co-Founder of Olive De Casa, Nattida works closely with growers in different regions to maintain quality throughout the process. Her role goes beyond finding a beautiful tree. It includes preparing the tree as thoroughly as possible and sharing the knowledge owners need to continue caring for it.

For Nattida, the value of an old olive tree lies in the way it reflects time and growth. Marks on the trunk and the form of its branches are natural art that cannot be reproduced. She sees each tree as a living asset that grows alongside a home and can carry its value from one generation to the next.
